small gestures like sponsoring individual children that we can begin to make a difference.

We need your help at UCHF to make a difference in the lives of these children.
AIDS has greatly increased the number of orphans in Uganda. These children are left in poverty and unbearable conditions without parents to care for them. At Uganda Children's Hope Foundation, We welcome individuals, families, and organizations who would like to come to Jinja, Uganda and assist us with our work. Today we are helping almost 20 children and we always need extra

Some of the ways you can help us here in Uganda could be: teaching, providing religious instruction, assisting in the garden, providing medical/ dental care to the children and the local community, working in our community outreach program educating people on AIDS, and helping us with repairs around the home. We hope to expand and to be able to bring more children into our care. Eventually we will need help building new facilities. We welcome all assistance and are always open to new ideas. Simply spending time with our children and letting them know other people care is enough to make a difference in their lives.

Volunteers can also take part in our programs wherever they currently live by; raising awareness of the needs of our children, collecting children's items (clothing, books, toys) to send to us in Uganda, organizing fundraising events to raise money, or simply letting people know about our work. So far we have found our best support has come from people involving their own local communities to help support us!
We look forward to you being a part of this life changing cause as we aim to develop a global partnership for development, and we are starting by helping one child at a time.

Why Volunteer in Uganda?
The Lonely Planet guide says "Uganda is Africa condensed, with the best of everything the continent has to offer packed into one small but stunning destination". For years, travellers have been drawn by Uganda's beautiful mountains, trekking and birding opportunities, and its famous mountain gorillas. The National parks are beautiful and less travelled than neighbouring Kenya and Tanzania. Jinja itself, where UCHF is located, has world class white water rafting. Uganda's beauty is relatively unspoiled and its developed tourist industry is not well known. Travellers get the benefit of world class (if desired) accommodations without the crowds of more "discovered" lands. Uganda is still an affordable travel destination. Volunteering with UCHF you can make a difference in the lives of our children in one of the most beautiful countries in Central Africa.
